Ayurveda Practitioner Kate O’Donnell joins Self-Care expert Dr. MC on this delightful episode. Ayurveda is a natural system of medicine that originated in India more than 3,000 years ago, meaning knowledge of life. A primary principle of Ayurveda is to connect the mind, body, and spirit. Ayurveda and self-care go hand in hand. As with the true meaning of self-care, we strive to tune in to all aspects of our being. “Self-care is seen as the foundational work required for physical and emotional well-being. Self-care is associated with positive physical health, emotional well-being, and mental health” (Cook-Cottone, 2015, p. 297).
In this episode, Kate offers a fabulous introduction to Ayurveda, including the doshas and the five elements and how Ayurveda and Self-care go great together. Kate even shares a couple of recipes from her fabulous cookbooks. Kate keeps it simple and accessible as she discusses the fantastic world of Ayurveda.
Kate O’Donnell is the author of three Ayurvedic Cookbooks, including The Everyday Ayurveda Guide to Self-Care, The Everyday Ayurveda Cookbook: A Seasonal Guide to Eating and Living Well, and Everyday Ayurvedic Cooking for a Calm, Clear Mind: 100 Sattvic Recipes.
