Leigh Soucy – All In: Health-At-Every-Size Conversations

Finding clothes that fit shouldn’t be a struggle—and shopping for them shouldn’t leave you feeling like your body is the problem.

Dr. MC went live on Instagram with Leigh Soucy, founder and owner of The Thicket in Worcester, MA, to chat about fat fashion, body liberation, breaking up with the color “black,” and the importance of creating spaces where people in larger bodies can feel seen, celebrated, and comfortable taking up space.

Born out of plus-size clothing swaps with friends, The Thicket is a curated secondhand and vintage shop carrying sizes Large and up. But it’s also about something bigger: community. Leigh has intentionally created an affirming space where fat folks can shop, connect, experiment with personal style, and find clothing that actually works for their bodies.

As someone deeply committed to body liberation and challenging anti-fat bias, Dr. MC loved having this conversation about what becomes possible when we stop asking bodies to fit our spaces—and start creating spaces that fit all bodies.

Leigh even took us on a tour of the Thicket, and Dr. MC cannot wait to visit it in person.
